Corry Sobol is a jazz vocalist, recording artist and composer. Her CD releases include Hitting the Ground Running with Toronto musicians Tim Posgate, Rob Clutton and Jean Martin, and Streetcar Tracks with notable Canadian jazz musicians Phil Dwyer, Hugh Fraser, Richard Whiteman, Dave Young and Barry Elmes. As a bandleader, Sobol has performed at the Toronto and Vancouver Jazz Festivals and her recordings and live performances have been featured on CBC television and radio shows including Jazz Beat and Brave New Waves, and on Jazz Fm 91. In 2005-2006 she owned and operated a jazz and live-music venue, The Red Guitar ArtHouse Cafe, which hosted celebrated musicians such as Ken Vandermark, Michel Donato, Mike Murley, Richard Underhill, Marilyn Lerner, Rich Brown, Robi Botos, and where Sobol performed regularly. Her recordings have been featured in television and film soundtracks, including The Printed Page, for the documentary film Literacy and Life.
